GOOGLE ANALYTICS – OVERVIEW

Google Analytics is a web analytics tool that allows website owners to analyze visitors’ interaction with their websites. Google Analytics customers can view a variety of reports. These reports show how visitors interact with their websites. These data can help the Google Analytics customer improve their website. This information, collected by Google Analytics, is anonymous. Only site trends are determined. The individual visitor remains unrecognized.

Site owners who use Google Analytics require privacy policies that fully understand the use of Google Analytics.

DATA PROVISIONS OF GOOGLE

Google values your trust very much and knows the responsibility to protect your data. Part of the responsibility is to inform you about the data collected when you use our products and services. We also clarify why we collect this data and how it is used to improve your experience with Google products and services. Google’s privacy policy describes what happens to personal information when you use Google products and services, such as Google Analytics.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS-COOKIES

Google Analytics, like many other services for analyzing visitor interactions, uses “first-party” cookies. Cookies are used to store information. These include, for example, the time to visit the site, the frequency with which the visitor accessed the site, and where the visitor came to the site. “First-party” cookies are not made accessible by browsers across the entire domain.

USE OF THE IP ADDRESS

Computers and devices connected to the Internet are assigned a unique number, the so-called IP address. Because these numbers are usually assigned in country-based blocks, an IP address can often be used to identify the country (state or city) that connects to the Internet using this computer. Google Analytics captures the IP addresses of the site visitors. This allows the website owner to analyze the parts of the world from where they come from. This method is called geotargeting of IP addresses.

The actual IP address information is not shared with Google Analytics customers by Google Analytics. In addition, the IP mask method is used: site owners who use Google Analytics can set it to use only part of it for geotargeting instead of the entire IP address. Site owners generally have access to the IP addresses of their site visitors, regardless of the use of Google Analytics.

PERSONAL DATA

Personal data is information that you personally identify. This includes data such as name, e-mail address, payment information, and other data directly related to such information. The Google Analytics Terms of Service, which Google Analytics customers must adhere to, prohibit the tracking or collection of such information with Google Analytics. Furthermore, no personal information may be linked with web analysis data.

USE OF DATA FROM GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Site owners using Google Analytics may determine what data may be used by Google. This permission is set with the Google Analytics data sharing options. If Google uses the data, it will be used to improve Google products and services. These options can be changed at any time by the site owner.

DEACTIVATION FUNCTION FOR THE BROWSER

The Analytics Disabling add-on adds Google Analytics to the site visitor more control over what data is collected on Google Analytics’s called sites. The add-on notifies the Google Analytics JavaScript (ga.js) not to provide any information about the site visit to Google Analytics. The Analytics Disabling add-on for browsers does not prevent information from being passed to the site or other web analytics services.
